Spicy November Coverpage

Happy November! Wow, this month sure came out of nowhere! Fall is moving so fast and soon the cold temperatures will be creeping into the midwest. I’m sure snow will be making its appearance shortly as well, so for November, I’m heating things up with my spicy chili pepper cover page! I buy chili peppers almost every week from the grocery store. I make a lot of salsas and Mexican cuisine in my home. In the fall and winter seasons, I spend lots of time in my kitchen coming up with new recipes and making loads of spicy comfort foods!

This design was just too much fun to create. I drew a rough sketch a couple of times with different designs/placement of the peppers and this one ended up being my favorite! I originally planned on using red and green colors but decided to add some pops of yellow to really make the design stand out.

All of my designs are created in Fabriano journals. These journals have the best paper in my opinion. You can get all sorts of fun colors, diverse papers, and bindings. I use a Pentel GraphGear 500 mechanical pencil to roughly sketch out all of my designs. Once I have my final sketch completed, I outline my designs using a thin micron pen, I like to use sizes .005 or .01 for the thinnest lines. The colors are from my Crayola SuperTips 100 pack. This pack of markers has all the colors you could ever need!
